Medhakeli
A learning game for children aged 2 to 9 — no account, no network, and nothing your child makes ever leaves the device.
Children's apps have a reputation, and it is mostly deserved: adverts between activities, accounts before you can start, and a great deal of quiet data collection about a small person who cannot consent to any of it. Medhakeli is built to be the opposite of that.
It works completely without an account and without a network connection. If you never create a parent account, nothing your child does ever leaves your device. There is no advertising, no data selling, and no tracking profile.
Built for these ages
Content is chosen by age band rather than by an exact birth date, which is also why the app never asks for one.
What it does
- Play without setupNo account, no sign-in, no network. Open it and start.
- Stars, badges and a roomRewards a child earns and can spend on things for their own room.
- A character of their ownEach child profile picks a character and a language that follow them.
- Drawing that stays privateArtwork stays on the device that made it — the server refuses to accept it.
- Parent ZoneBehind a PIN that is hashed and never leaves the device.
- Works offlineVoice packs download once and the audio stays on the device. A pack name is reported only if you switch on usage data.
What is stored, and where
Without an account — the default. Your child's nickname, progress, stars, badges, drawings, room and character are stored only in the app's own storage on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Nothing is transmitted.
If a parent creates an account, it exists for one reason: so a family's progress survives a lost phone and can be shared across two devices. It then stores an email address and a hashed password, the subscription state, each child's profile — nickname, age band, language, character — learning progress, rewards, and accessibility and audio settings.
What Medhakeli never collects
- A child's real name, date of birth or exact age
- A photograph, address or phone number
- Your child's drawings — the server refuses to accept them, even with an account
- Your Parent Zone PIN — it is hashed and never leaves the device
- Which voice packs you have downloaded — unless you switch on anonymous usage data, which records the pack name in its download event
The server enforces this with an allow-list, so a bug in the app cannot start sending more than the list permits. Anonymous usage data exists but is off unless a parent switches it on, in Parent Zone → Your data.
What it will cost
Medhakeli will have a free tier, a trial, and a Pro subscription. Pricing is not settled yet, so there is no number to quote here — it will appear on this page and in the app before anything is charged. There will be no advertising on any tier.
Privacy
The full Medhakeli privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored with and without an account, what the server will refuse, and how to delete everything — every claim in it checked against the code rather than written from intention.
How it's built
Built by Lyvorian Studio, to the same rule as Finance Tracker and Habit Kramedha: measure it on a real device, then fix it or delete it, and put nothing in front of anyone until it has earned the space. That rule is explained in Built the hard way, and where Medhakeli sits in the queue is on the roadmap.
